Meet The Team
LeeAnn believes in the power of education for small business owners and realized the lack of such education from the beauty industry is a liability. With her background in nonprofits such as Central Nebraska Community Services, Head Start, & Project Homeless Connect, LeeAnn is equipped with a thorough understanding of nonprofit budgeting, operations, and awareness campaigns. As the President and Executive Director of the Sovereign Stylist, she values the free flow of ideas from her team, and the creativity each director brings to the table.
In 2018, LeeAnn started a small Facebook Group to help educate fellow Booth Renters on the legalities of misclassification. The group’s popularity grew, and LeeAnn decided to expand the type of content offered and build a nonprofit business out of the result. Thus, The Sovereign Stylist was born. Over the years, the group has gained 8.9 thousand members and continues to grow.
In 2018, as a board member for Project Homeless Connect, LeeAnn led a team of local cosmetologists, which performed free haircuts & shaves to the homeless to boost self-confidence and help increase their employment chances. In 2019, LeeAnn, while a board member at her local Head Start, led the donation drive, which helped families affected by the Nebraska floods.
As a wife and mother, LeeAnn’s proudest accomplishment is her family. Her husband and four children keep her life interesting, and seeing her children grow and succeed over time, has provided one of life’s greatest privileges.
LeeAnn holds an Associates in Human Services & an Associates in Psychology from Central Community College in Grand Island, Nebraska. She attended Joseph’s College of Cosmetology and graduated with full honors.
“In the words of Oscar Wilde, ‘you can never be overdressed or overeducated.’ Wise words to live by because people should never stop learning. One should also want to present one’s best-self each & every day and to be better; one must work to be better.”

Maureen believes in the beauty and magic of the industry. However, being an independent stylist, she also understands that every business’s backend needs solid cogwheels to be successful. Maureen’s methodical approach to moderating and interacting with The Sovereign Stylist’s Facebook group made her a natural choice to be the point of contact for the organization.
Originally from the Miami, Florida area, Maureen moved to Michigan and began her life as a suite renter. For one and a half years, Maureen has paid close attention to detail as well as researching crucial aspects of her business to remain compliant.
Maureen values The Sovereign Stylist’s mission because she feels that the only way to combat predatory business practices is to educate and support stylists. Once stylists know what to look for, they won’t fall for such scams. However, she also understands that salon owners also need education and support to ensure they are treating their employees or renters correctly.
Maureen graduated from the Cosmetology program at Kaizen Beauty Academy in 2017.
